Access2Angling is based at Lavender Hall Fishery, Balsall Common, near Coventry, meeting fortnightly on a Saturday Morning 10am-2pm.
Access2Angling is a volunteer-run Saturday morning club, open to anyone who wants to learn how to fish, or improve their angling skills.
The group of qualified angling coaches who started Access2Angling wished to bring the pleasure of angling to local young people, in a pleasant and friendly environment, to help develop their skills and build personal confidence. Over time, some parents have also expressed a wish to fish and make it a family pastime.
- All the fishing tackle and bait is provided at each session.
- All you have to do is turn up.
- Angling coaches with a Level 2 coaching qualification provide all tuition.
What’s happens on a Saturday?
At each session you will get the opportunity to fish in a well-stocked fishery.
You should arrive by 9.45 so that we can get all the tackle organized, with each session starting at 10am. We have a break at 12pm for Lunch. We end the session at about 2pm.
Access2Angling ensures that every individual attending the Saturday morning sessions learns how to set their tackle up correctly, handle fish safely and keep themselves safe while being close to water.
You will learn a number of different methods for fishing, as well as learning the appropriate skills to be able to fish independently if you wish.
Each session costs £12 and is open to any young person from the age of 8.
At someone’s first session we will require a parent/guardian to complete a registration form.
In the future we are aiming to widen the opportunities by arranging different activities such as:
- Sea Fishing
- Fly Fishing
- Match Angling
